Portable Emission Measurement – 350 Maritime
In addition to condition monitoring with regard to existing optimization potential, the measurement of emissions is becoming increasingly important due to international environmental regulations.
Ever stricter limit values for greenhouse gases are forcing ship operators to invest in ship operations with reduced emissions.
This not only means switching from heavy oil to alternative fuels, but also optimizing the combustion process.
Here measurement technology is to be made available to the ship crew, which enables a quick recording and documentation of emission values. This can be regular monitoring on board or after an overhaul and modification of the engine.
The aim of regular measurements is to control the combustion in order to achieve an optimal combustion process and to minimize fuel consumption.
Furthermore, the measurement and documentation of the emission values should enable evidence of the extent to which machine systems are operated within the permissible limit values. This can lead to considerable savings in the procurement of spare parts and possibly also in port fees.
