Every ship has a large number of pressure and temperature sensors on board. Regular testing of the accuracy of these sensors is prescribed by the classification societies.
The use of pressure calibrators on board a ship is crucial to ensure the precision of the pressure measurement systems and thus the safety, efficiency and reliability of the ship’s operation.
The SIKA P 60/P 40 pneumatic hand test pump is designed to allow direct connection of all pressure systems to be tested using adapters. The test item is simply connected via the robust industrial hose with integrated quick-release coupling and the adapters supplied. The reference is attached directly to the top of the pump using a positioning adapter. The desired test pressure is first generated using the handles and then precisely adjusted using the fine adjustment valve. This ensures that the pressure is the same on both devices. The pressure relief valve enables continuous pressure reduction and ensures accurate and simple testing, even with decreasing pressure.

Air is used as the pressure medium. Air is the ideal test medium, especially in applications where wetting of the test specimen is not permitted or the use of aggressive or ionizing substances must be avoided. The pneumatic test pump type P 60 from SIKA fulfills requirements that in many cases can only be covered by several pumps from other suppliers.
In the simplest case, the pressure is indicated by an analog pressure gauge. An easy-to-read digital pressure gauge or a hand-held measuring device can also be used. The accuracy or setting of the pressure gauge under test can be checked by comparing the displayed reference value with the measured value of the device under test.
