Cylinder Liner Maintenance

Regular cylinder liner measurement is key to condition-based maintenance on large marine diesel engines. The ovality kit for the DI-5C electronic deflection indicator measures cylinder liner wear, ovality and taper at defined depths with 0.001 mm resolution, on liners from 180 to 600 mm bore diameter and strokes up to 870 mm. The DI-5C software stores, compares and charts the results. This shows crews and technical managers early how the liner is moving away from its original specification, so they can plan honing, liner replacement and overhaul intervals in time.
