Engine Performance - Cylinder pressure mechanic

Mechanical cylinder pressure indicators give a fast, reliable check of engine performance on two- and four-stroke marine diesel engines, with no power supply or software needed. The Type 50 mechanical indicator (System Maihak) records cylinder pressure diagrams on paper through the standard indicator valve. The MSI-3 peak pressure indicator shows the maximum firing pressure (Pmax) of each cylinder directly on the gauge. Crews and technical managers can use these readings to compare cylinders, adjust injection timing, balance cylinders and spot combustion problems early.
