Ship & Hull Performance

The actual performance of a ship depends on hull and propeller condition, the engine, the weather and how the vessel is operated. Reliable, continuous performance data shows where fuel is lost and when hull cleaning, propeller polishing or engine maintenance will pay off. The PIM OBU (Performance Indication Onboard Unit) from our cooperation partner Veinland logs and displays nautical, fuel consumption and engine data from various onboard sensors in real time. It compares actual fuel consumption with charter party figures, which gives shipowners and charterers a common, traceable data basis. All data is transferred to the shore office, where the PIM Office software stores it for analysis and playback. It also allows remote configuration of the onboard system. Combined with precise fuel flow and shaft power measurement, this creates a solid basis for improving fuel efficiency, assessing hull performance and reporting emissions.
